Howard Lloyd-Lewis

Howard Lloyd-Lewis (born 9th May 1944 in Aberfan, Wales; died 18th December 1986 in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street between November and December 1982 as social worker Mr. Carter, who found Sharon Gaskell a new foster placement and a job as a kennel maid with a family in Sheffield. He attended the local village primary school before his family moved to Essex where he was a pupil at both Bell School and Coopers' Company School before going on to train at the East 15 Acting School. His other on-screen credits included roles in All for Love, Chessgame, The Wind in the Willows, The Practice, Albion Market and the 1986 film Clockwise. He joined The Library Theatre Company, Manchester in 1973 as Co-Director and over a five year tenure he directed over thirty plays including The Long, The Short and The Tall; Live Like Pigs; Oh! What a Lovely War; Uncle Vanya; The National Health; Forget-Me-Not-Lane; City Sugar and Absurd Person Singular. At the Duke's Playhouse in Lancaster he directed productions including Hedda Gabler, The Norman Conquests, King Lear, Ghosts and Entertaining Mr Sloane. He returned to The Library in 1980 as Director of Productions, with works including Piaf, Privates on Parade, Godspell, Cinderella, Leave Him To Heaven, Happy End, Sweet Charity, Fearless Frank, Sisterly Feelings and Cabaret.
